Architectural photography requires rigor and mathematical precision. A single tilted wall can destroy an otherwise flawless interior shoot.

Key Rules for Architectural Shoots

  1. Keep Verticals Strictly Parallel: Always use a bubble level on your tripod or a tilt-shift lens.
  2. Bracket for Dynamic Range: Take 5 exposures (-2, -1, 0, +1, +2 EV) to seamlessly blend interior shadows with bright window views.
  3. Turn Off Mixed Lighting: Turn off tungsten household lamps if you are shooting with daylight balanced ambient light to prevent unnatural color casts.
